Risk Assessment Process for Commercial Laundries

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) identifies hazard identification and risk assessment as one of the seven “Core Elements” of an effective safety and health (S&H) program. This one-hour webinar will cover how to perform an assessment of hazards and risks and prevent injuries. The purpose of performing an S&H risk assessment is to identify potential hazards to workers that, left uncontrolled, could result in the risk of a serious injury or fatality. As a result, it is important that location management teams implement a well-defined and effective process to identify, evaluate, document and control the S&H hazards and associated risks at all operating company locations. The assessment must address routine work tasks that employees complete daily, as well as non-routine work tasks that employees engage in only occasionally.

Areas to be covered in this webinar include:

  • Definition of hazard vs. risk
  • Common commercial laundry hazards and risks
  • Sources of hazard and risk information
  • Controlling hazards and risks
